business trip and my boss told me that I would have the middle day to myself due to a cancellation, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to take advantage of the good weather by spending the day on the beach. On the day I visited the beach I got up reasonably early so that I could make the most of my day. Stepping off the Metro at Barceloneta, my mind was filled with what activities I would do once I was on the beach. I had read various reviews about the range of water sports, including windsurfing and kite surfing, how fabulous the water was to swim in and how relaxing it was to grab a beer from one of the many beach hut bars.
In the end I decided that, as the sun was yet to show its full force, I would start with a swim to clear my head. After a half an hour splash I dried off in the sun before partaking in a massage from a lady who was offering her services to the revellers. Whilst I was enjoying the massage I decided to leave the water sports for this time as I wanted to leave something for my next visit as I definitely want to return.
A walk along the sea front to one of dozens of seafood restaurants and a huge dishful of mussels followed by a glass of Spanish red wine. What a day. And peopel wonder why I choose to live here?!
